As you know we love exploring the underwater world, especially when we can explorer new and interesting aspects that most know very little about! Who has heard of Underwater Cultural Heritage? Most of you will maybe think of ship wrecks, that what first came to mind for us, but there is so much more to it.
Last year we worked with UNESCO and National Museums of Kenya to create a film that explains Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH) in Africa. For part of the films creation we attended a workshop held in Mombasa attended by 18 participants from 12 different African countries with varying expertise in marine heritage. The workshop by UNESCO, Rising from the Depths and National Museums of Kenya (NMK). We also worked closely with Dr. Caesar Bita, the head of underwater archeology at National Museums of Kenya and Africa's leading underwater cultural heritage specialist.
